For many of us, Rahman's music goes beyond appeal, goes beyond mere entertainment, mere aesthetic listening. Rahman so often conveys spirituality in his music, something permanent and everlasting in our day to day hassles and fleeting moments. His creativity, originality, depth, humility, courageousness, versatility, diversity are inspirations for many of us. How often does a person teach you so much and inspire you so much without hearing a single word directed at you? When I try to convey my excitement and devotion to Rahman's music to others and they just don't understand my adoration, I feel sad, not for myself, but for them!
It's hard to describe what I feel when I listen to a soundtrack like Swades, knowing Rahman has put his soul into his compositions. Gosh, the man is just incredible. Rahman, if you ever read this, I don't know if you realize how much of a positive and everlasting impact you have on so many of us, your dearest and most devoted fans. I am listening to Swades on headphones while I write this in hopes that I can convey what is in my heart as pure as possible. That is what Rahman's music does...it pulls at us, brings out the best in us.
Someone please forward our heartfelt messages to Rahman. I want him to know that his dearest fans love him and benefit so much from his music. He has made a permanent mark on all of us and it is this legacy that will live forever. May God bless Rahman always.
After Oscar finalist ' Lagaan ', Ashutosh Gowariker brings another magnum opus - ' Swades - We, the people '. A UTV Motion Pictures presentation and Ashutosh Gowariker production, ' Swades ' is one of the top 3 most awaited movies of the year with Veer Zaara and Kisna . And why not, when it boasts of numbero uno star Shahrukh Khan and the legendary musical 'jodi' of A.R. Rehman and Javed Akhtar saab. Both Lagaan and Swades deal with the theme of taking pride in being an Indian. The difference here being that while 'Lagaan' told a story set in the 19th century, 'Swades' is more contemporary (unlike the misconception of it being set in the pre-independence era) and tells the story of a scientist in NASA (played by Shahrukh Khan) who returns to his motherland to find his roots. Introducing Gayatri Joshi as the lead heroine, 'Swades' (just like Lagaan ) too is character driven rather than star driven and hence has a bagful of talented stage and small time actors.
When the canvas is as big as ' Swades ', ones expectations are sky high from the music. And more so if the team has delivered a massive hit earlier. Coming in the wake of musical ' Veer Zaara ', this one is a second biggie for SRK in the span of just one week.
In the opening number ' Yeh Tara Woh Tara ', Udit Narayan sounds as fresh as always and sings with a childlike excitement. The number has a beautiful melody and rhythm and in facts is reminiscent of a lullaby. Lyrics are far from routine and talk about the strengths of being united. Child artistes Vignesh and Pooja sing their lines well and add on to the rural feel. After listening to the number completely, you are sure that SRK will be doing something different from his lover boy image in this movie that has a classical feel about it.
Alka Yagnik enchants once again in ' Saanwariya Saanwariya ', an excellent romantic solo by her that proves that fact that just like Lataji and Ashaji, her vocals too are getting better and better with every passing year. Her pitch is just perfect in this 'very much an original' composition by A.R. Rehman that make you admire his music - yet again. A simple love song, it will grow on you after listening for a few times.
A number attached to the roots makes an appearance with ' Yun Hi Chala Chal ' by Udit Narayan, Hariharan and Kaailsh Kher. Though the number is accompanied by strong beats throughout, never once does the number get off track from its theme. Picturized on SRK and Makrand Deshpande, this lively road number talks about life and its various moments that bring a smile on the face. All the three singers are excellent in their rendition and make this rather lengthy track (of about eight minutes) quite enjoyable. Now this is what you call an original tune!
If the previous three tracks were based around rhythm, then listen to ' Aahista Aahista ', which is melody at it's best. Udit Narayan comes together with Sadhna Sargam in this quite'n'nice love song that goes on and on and never once do you feel tired of listening to the tune. This is vintage A.R. Rehman!!
' Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera ', which follows next is the call of the nation to the lead protagonist to come back home. The theme song sung by A.R. Rehman (that also appears in a ' Shehnai ' instrumental ) is a situational track and raises the question of why a person has to be away from his country when everything is here in his own country?
' Pal Pal Hai Bhari ' is a chapter from 'Ramayana' set as a stage play. Sung by Madhushree, Vijay Prakash and Ashutosh Gowariker, the song is narration of the scene when Sita is in the trap of Ravana and he is trying to instigate her against Lord Ram. But Sita doesn't bow down to his wishes and continues her worship with 'Raam-naam'. A devotional song, it should appeal to the ladies and the worshippers of Lord Ram. Just like ' Yeh Jo Des ', ' Pal Pal ' also appears in a 'Flute' instrumental .
Album ends with the love duet ' Dekho Na ' that is again rich in melody and shows the class of Rehman. Sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, it is a sugarcoated number that you can sing along to your beloved on a long drive. Another original number, it doesn't borrow its inspiration from anything new or old.
The first obvious question that one may ask after hearing to 'Swades' is - 'Will the tracks be as popular as Lagaan ?' The answer is 'YES'. The tracks have everything going with them to be popular amongst all age groups and societies. All the tracks are original and have a certain class associated with them that make them stand apart from the routine dish served by Bollywood. Interesting promos on the air will further make sure that the songs make their presence felt. From here on, it should be interesting to see which one out of Veer Zaara and Swades reaches a one million sales mark first!

!!!VAn3ss@ MAe & AR R@hm@N R0ckS!!!
It was worth the wait.The duo combo of The violin Queen and the mozart of asia with the backdrop of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra produced a spectacular divine composition which still echoes in my ears.It was sheer joy a celebration of music and music genuis.The track "raga's dance in vanessa mae's latest release CHOREOGRAPHY is sublime.AR. Rahman has delivered his full emotional values for this track.Intelligenty bringing together the western and indian classical discpline of music in one composition.The track resambles spiritually and today indian music as AR. Rahman said.Vanessa Mae's violin depicted colours and emotion in this composition she has proven her virtuoso.The sargams (Vox) and kunnakol (Rythm VoX) is the highlight in this piece.Nice to listen to the mridangam,kartals,moorsing, tambura(Sruthi) and Kanjira admist the western music. Raga's such Sånkarabharånam,Ðarbåri Kaanaåda,Keeråvani and many more have been used in this composition to bring out it's personality and to portay the various emotions.Other song in this track is worth listening to a very good album which depict various music forms around te world.Lastly I have to thank god upon giving us the priceless art called "music" and the knowledge about how to sculpture it to ones liking.
::+::The PAsSion Of The Christ::+::
The highlight of the movie is the crucifixion scene were the true emotion flows the PAssion is potrayed here.This movie has been a refreshment to me about who i am and whats my duty here.The virgin mary was a great character in this movie she represents intense feelings of motherhood.Then another character the devil just kept appearing in all scenes of the movie reflected to me that bad influence is always around us.We have to be strong to fight it.The suffering and torture potrayed in the movie is so intensed that i suggest this movie is not for the faint hearted.LAstly its a great movie to watch not only by christians but all.The Soundtrack of this movie is necter to the ears.It's a must to hear for all those music lovers out there.Every scene is highlighted by a score which delivered tremendous emotion overflow .The score which deeply effected me and brought tears to flow down my eyes is mary goes to jesus.This score is very special it reflects motherhood.Lastly i think this movie has tremendously affected me,by thickening my mental and also my spiritual values that had been loose for a while in my life.A great movie!!!.Iam speechless to go on.

@^*ResearcH ProjecT DisasTer!!!*^@
Ahhhhh.....i said calming my self down after the disaster i when through.It was a disaster which prolonged about one and a half month.It waS not supposed to be me being the victim because i am only a diploma student.Well since it has ended..i will keep this agenda in life suttle.There won't be any fuss gaining fame or name about it.
,,,:::-ME and MUSIC:::,,,
I am a simple guy.....but my daily experience seem to be entertaning. It could not be classified being weird but interesting sometimes.I am a guy who had never set foot in a country yard since birth.I was delivered into the metropolitan city of KL.As i grew nothing based on this materialistic world seem to get my attention.Until this divine art, "music" grabed me.I was not sure...of my mission in life...the passion for music was hidden in me when i was little.Only god new when to bring it out of me.I was a mere sibling then Sa,Ri,Ga,Ma and Do,Re,Mi were at the tip pf my toungue before my ABC's.
I started my kindagarden, my music destiny was kept aside for a while.It was an off and on process which continued through out my life even now.Everytime i step into a new stage in life my interest in music fades away a while.I guess it's god will, i don't know what he had scheduled for my future but i am sure it's something great. Well i grew, mentaly and physically keeping up with time as it flows unwillinly....i think i was 14 then something special happened r&b and soul creeped into my soul making me to crave for more of this music genre.I was in dilemma, am i betraying carnatic music?? or is it normal to keep away my likings after long period of domination.These questions kept running in my mind....it was hard to decide which was destined for me.During the revolution of music in my life as i call it, i begin venturing and exploiting western music...I was totaly turn towards a new dimension of music....my liking towards carnatic music remained suttle in me now.
This revolution was put to an end when another genre of music caught my soul "Fusion"...i found that only with this genre both carnatic and western music discpline could unite..I was spellbound of this genre.Many great musicion has acclaimed fame by adopting this genre.I was proud to see that my icon of music "Pt.Ravi Shankar ji traveling to the western continents to unite music.It's great to see how so many genres of music could affect my life..Alas!! i was enlighten! it appealed to me that music is universal.All form of it has it's own identity and we must learn to respect them.
Now i am 20..i have started learning some instruments and also vocal ( Carnatic) since i have not been formally initiated into music.Everything i gained through the years was what they call "kezhvi nyanam" or knowledge out if curiosity.My journey into music is endless, i've even not gained the position of student but still remain a mere servent in music.As music is endless, life is a failure if not associated with it.....!
