Lord Krishna has said to Narada "Nahang tishthami vaikunthe, Yoginang hridaye ne che, mudbhakta jatra gayanti tatra tishthami Narada"Which translates to: "I stay neither in the heavens nor in the hearts of Yogis, but stay where my devotees sing."In English literature, the great poet Shelly has written "Music, when soft voices die vibrates in the memory."Music is a universal phenomenon. It cannot be seen but has tremendous impact on our physical existence. The connection is the mind, the senses and the higher perceptions come to the forefront and play a major role with the help of the calming energy that music generates. There is a certain power in a word even at a human level; our own names have a special significance. The way it is pronounced, makes great difference to the message it wants to convey. The tone of the word or language makes it loving, scolding, protecting, and understanding and gives it many other dynamic effects. There is also another very unique element of spoke words. In a world full of 'give and take', your words once spoken cannot be ever taken back. You can try to make amends by the magic word 'sorry, forgive me' but the spoken words get impressed in the subconscious of the person who hears them. This impression is strong and permanent till our mind that controls memory decides to fade them into the forgotten arena. Similarly, Mantras are a string of words. Their raga (tone or melody) makes them convey or connect in a special way to the Deveta or presiding deity. When the spoken word is perfectly sounded within and without, there is a potent energy generation. There is an unseen impression in the environment and within our selves. The sonic energy is also potent and unchangeable. Our mind is not completely in our control, all the religions of the world use words and tones as the best controlling device so that we can once again bring ourselves to connect to our base, our soul or Atman. When we refer to the test of Saturn and Moon, it is not surprising that Saturn points his weapons at this emotional planet that is responsible for our manifestation in this world. A strong Saturn person is also conservative in speech. An expansive Jupiter person is capable of helping others and is a very generous one but on the negative side the person often promises beyond realistic boundaries and they just remain broken promises. Please note that Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, a Sign belonging to Moon, I am sure you see what I am trying to point out. A strong Jupiter can bring great happiness and the vehicle is Moon, Saturn can bring greater sorrow and the medium is again Moon. There is no doubt that happiness as great but due to its fleeting quality, sorrow always remains greater.

SometHIn DevoTioNAl

"The background music of this site is taken form this album"
"Navatri is around the corner and after a long and wild search of a fusion cum devotional number finally i've been led to wht i wanted. The instrumental Album called Divine Melodies is a soul satisfier and necter for music enthusiast. The album is composed by MANI KANTH KADRI, you might be wondering who is this guy, he is none other than the son of the great saxaphone maestro which hails from Indian Sri Kadri Gopalnath. If u remember in the movie Paarthale Paravasam he gave a special appearance during Madhavan and simran's wedding scene.HE was performing on that occasion.SO check the movie out again !!!! HUh.Well coming back about the album,it saddens me that this album is only for sale in india.;}.I got it through ma fren. The album has 9 worderfull score dedicated to various hindu deities.I 've givin ma review for each score as below......

  1. Pahi Pahi Gajanana.Dedicated to our very dear lord GAnesha as the lord who removes all obstacles. The track starts with the sax intro playing the song's refrain. As the track goes on it is infused with arabic flavour, drums and flute build up this score.IT is noticable that the raga sindhubhairavi has shades of arabian music. If u hear to beyonce's naughty gurl often u'll get wht i mean. The song is a well balanced score in terms of its arrangements.NIce to hear, the first track convinces us to listen ahead through the album.
  2. The second score is LAnka Sankari (DEVI)in raga Latantapriya...brings the old memories of the 80's cinema back to life when listen to this song. This song could be classified as a contemporary indian number. No heavy beats used it's nice and simple score... to listen.
  3. THe next being DAtta Datta Datta Jai(DATTATREYA the trinity incarnation) in raga anandabhairavi (listen to nadiye nadiye from "rythm") a folk raga. The song is flavored with the rythms of the dandiya which is a famous dance form in north india. This song highlights the competion between the sax and the bass guitar which amazed me.
  4. NExt a worderfull devotional cum rNb number,Gangadhara Siva in raga Gaurimanohari. The song's slow ballad RnB version initialy with the female choirs chanting the holy names of lord shiva left ma soul to stir. The flute, female vocal seems to emblish the track always.Since the raga Gaurimanohari is equivelent to the C MelodiC Minor of the western scale chords where well arranged in this song. The female vox bring the song to life with freaquent sargam(note emblishment) here and there.A well composed song soothing effect and evokes felling of pathos.
  5. The highlight of this album and ma favourite track.Bhaja Bhaja Dattam Composed well in the raga kalyani a bhajan on Lord Dattatreya. This song kept me glued to ma seat for repeated listening of it.The song again comes to life with the female vox all over the song. The rhytm and chords go on hand to hand giving the song a harmonic music effect. Then suddenly there is a change towards the end of the song the speed of the melody is increased with the vocals reaching it's ending creating a sort of CRESCENDO.A sublime number...
  6. Shiva Shiva sankara in raga Chakravakam......so beautifully composed with slight mix of arabic and techno music. In this number the competion is beween the mandolin and the sax. This song has male voxs Chanting "shiva Shiva tavacaranam" (oh lord shiva i prostrate to u ) which enrich the devotionality of this song. The song suddenly changes pace, the melody is ravishly transfered with the help of classical instruments such as the kanjira, mridangam, ghatam and lot's of mandolin pieces with the male chorus chanting "shiva shiva tavacaranam"as the previous song this song also end with a crescendo.A song which evokes bakthi rasa.
  7. This number in raga kalindhija MAntra pramanam.IS some what like a trance number with the echoes of celthic kinda chants and the music form the sax.The raga evokes emotional feeling of pathos. The melody of the song is constant while the background rythm is changed frequently. Then towards the end another suprising change of the track. In a faster pace the track is only accompanied with classical rythm instruments i.e. mridungam, tabla, and kartals and the main instrument being the sax.An amazing music venture.
  8. Ramyaka Ratri in raga abheri.Very modern composition so lively. This song dedicated to lord shiva again has all features which resambles the western music genre. The whole track seem to be programmed even the sax's has a phased effect. The song could be classified under the NEw age genre. An experimental number.
  9. The finale of the album a modern tazhattu or lullaby bids a warm farewell to listeners.Sadanande Jo which means go to sleep oh one who is always surrounded with happiness" is the last number in this track. This song is in the soothing raga dwijavanthi. This song is more melody based than rythm in order to maintain it's identity as a lullaby. There is a female lead in this song. The female vox is used again to create a soothing effect for this song. The raga does not affect us with sleepiness as neelambari does but create a very divine feeling which leaves us yearning for more.

Lastly this album is a total music contradiction for those hip-hop and rap lovers including me.I 've decided to give a change to ma taste for a while.Mani kanth kadri has proven his versatility in music in this album.KAdri's evergreen sax melodies remains youthfull.I am sure that renderation of such sanskrit based compositions on instrements such as the saxaphone is an innovative venture on the part of the distinguished artist. For me Listening to the melodies in this album is thrilling and soul lifting.
